I am converting my 1600 SP (1970 B6 case) over to a doghouse oil cooler. I have obtained all the parts necessary for the conversion except the oil cooler stand and the nut insert for the engine to trans mounting bolt.

For the oil cooler stand, should I source a used VW original stand or aftermarket? Does it even matter?

Where can I find the nut insert for the case?

Thanks.

Engine Case Nut Insert Captive Nut press-in nut

Part #111 199 102
This captive nut came on all dual relief cases. This is because with a doghouse cooler it is near impossible to get a nut off or on once the engine is in unless you add the small shroud tins afterwards. If you're putting a dual relief case on a transmission that took a single relief case, make sure you grind off the locking boss for the bolt on the clutch arm side before you put the motor in. Be careful not to crack the case when installing. Rig up a pipe that has a notch to match the notch on the flywheel side of the case. Draw the nut into the case with a bolt.

Awesome thank you.

My B6 case is from a 1970 bug and is dual relief but does not have the nut insert because it was pre doghouse.
