Oh sorry about that. So, I'm not exactly sure what the etiquette is with respect to copying one of Ron's pics from his FB page and posting it here. Obviously, he's already put them out there for public consumption, and I will certainly put them up when I take delivery of my own set.

But until then, if you google "Ron Lummus IRS trailing arm" and then at the top of your google search page, click "Images," then you can see several views. You're best off clicking "Images" because their website is under construction and will not load. Unfortch, the web pics are fuzzy resolution...if any of y'all have Facebook, you can see crystal-clear images of them on his FB pages.

I was a proud opponent of Facebook, highly resistant to the seemingly constant urging of friends and relatives to join Facebook. Well I did the unthinkable yesterday...I finally created an account, just so I could see the details on these arms. It seems like more and more, vendors are opting to post their wares on FB and avoid the expense and headaches of maintaining a web page. Believe me, I plan on posting NOTHING, just lurking on FB.

Anyway, the bearing housings are fairly robust bulks of aluminum, turned on a lathe, and they look like they can be clocked in 45 degree increments, should one wish to position flange-mounted calipers in some particular direction.

"Fair use" also applies to any images you may pull off from places like GOOGLE Images which is not really bashful about copyright notices on some of their graphics...

I like that Dale. I've researched the matter in the past. This makes a concise statement that's pretty easy to understand and seems to be accurate and true to the law as I understand it.

I really don't understand the thinking of companies that object to the free advertising they get from distribution of images of their product. I DO understand that a company CAN lose ownership of corporate logos, like happened to United States Steel Corp. But it's foolish to stress over someone posting on a public internet forum about offroad cars that the place to get a certain part for their buggy is at 'Shmoe's Buggy and Offroad'. Especially when the image linked is heavily watermarked.

Here's the RLR 4130 control arm, 1" narrowed (I know, not much of an off-road thing).

I got them before Thanksgiving, but I just got around to snapping some pics. Can't wait to start mocking them up on my Bus. I suspect these are going to resolve ALL of my bearing fitment issues...thanks everybody, for your input. I may still heat stress-relieve the other arms at some point in the future, for some other project, or....

Looks like those arms limit your brake choices?
Do disc caliper brackets work with them?

Possibly...a couple of points about that: these bearing housings are designed to work with their Chevy disc arrangement. I asked if they knew whether my 944 setup would clear everything, and they didn't know, but offered to clearance the housings where necessary if I sent them down. I declined and said I'll take the chance and let them know otherwise. Well, turns out the 944 disc backing plate fits perfectly (as far as the p-brake goes), with the right clocking, the p-brake outlet points straight out on a horizontal plane underneath the arm...likewise if I flip it and reverse sides: the cable outlet is on plane over the top of the arm. With regard to the caliper mounting bosses, I machined those off, to reposition the calipers for the other arms...so I still have to address that matter.

I can't say for sure about the various brands, but for the ones (similar to CB's) that have a large offset and big angled webs to add rigidity, those may be an issue without clearancing. I will say this: the aluminum housings have a fair amount of setback to sort of mimic a stock bearing cap geometry, so I suspect some aftermarket brake brackets may simply bolt on. Mods are always a possibility in this realm. Again, the greatest feature of this design is a replaceable/modifiable bearing housing. Heck, one could even adapt the weld-on style CrMo ones to bolt into the arm carrier with an adapter plate.
