|
|
Hi, am looking for the correct mounting position for my period Blaupunkt external radio speaker.
I have the Motometer Rallye Guages installed were the speaker would normally go in the dash.
Many thanks. |

Radios at least here in N. America were not "Correct" if you mean installed at the factory in Wolfsburg. So any radio, radio speaker, or radio antenna would be a VW dealer, radio shop, or DPO addition, so factory not correct. Additionally a Rallye gauge setup would not be a factory correct item, so having a speaker not in the radio grill is not going to be a factory correct placement.
If you want a speaker that would be as close as possible correct for the era, then you would mount an external speaker, and probably a Blaupunkt made one. Like this:
As to where to put that speaker, would be up to the non-factory installer. Just like there are so many different placements of the antenna. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

I too am interested where people have their speakers with a rally pack installed (or even where the speaker is not in the factory oval position for some other reason) please post your pictures here.
Many thanks

Don't care where the dealer placed our speaker, originally, but i placed that metal speaker box on the front fire wall, on our old Zwitter - see the edge of it under there, on the right?

Was it high enough up that people didn’t catch it with their feet? |
