Well Friday we bought a SUV, or maybe it’s a crossover.
My wife drove a 2010 VW CC I bought her right before we moved in together.
She had put 90K on the CC, and it looked like we might be losng the DSG.
I was ready to buy her another VW Passat, I have a 2001 Passat wagon with a V6, 5 speed, so I test drove a 2015 VW Passat, and liked it.
But two weeks ago another pushy bitch in an SUV had road raged my wife, this was the second time in the three years that we have lived in Morgan Hill.
So before I pulled the trigger on the purchase I asked her, “Do you want to look at a SUV, maybe a bigger car will keep the ass holes off you”.
We go to look at the VW Passat, but she didn’t even want to drive it, once she saw the SUV’s.
She spent 4 hours driving, and looking at them.
She picked out a white VW Atlas SE V6, and after kicking a few land sharks in the nose, we bought it.
This is going to take a while for my mind to accept, but we now own an SUV, or maybe it’s a crossover. _________________ Good Luck

If it's anything like the Forester I bought my wife the fuel mileage alone will make you deeply regret the choice. |

We have had the Atlas for two weeks now.
She really likes it, and she has yet to bitch about anything about it.
So I'm calling that a success.
I have also driven around on the weekends taking her to and from where ever she wanted to go.
Most controls are easy to use, I hooked up my phone, and navigation worked great.
It's a narrow angle V6, and had Auto Stop/Start which I thought I wouldn't like,
but works well enough that I didn't really care about it.
There is a button to turn it off, so if it bugs me I turn the feature off.
Adaptive cruise control works too good, car slows down for dumb asses lane jumpers in Toyotas.
Lane warning, blind-spot warning, proximity warning for if you are too close to car in front of you, is all unobtrusive.
I'll cry tonight, because it's time to fill up the tank @ nearly $4 a gallon, but it takes regular gas at least. _________________ Good Luck

The money you save in gas will pay for the timing chains. Well you'll have to put in a few [a lot] more $$ on the bill too. |
