What can be done for these rust spots? The guy that painted it I think used a 1 stage paint and very little clear. I don’t want to have to repaint the whole thing. Is there a way to do just the spots? People have suggested a compound but not sure, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Agree^^^ the problem is under the paint. No way to fix with out removing all the new paint. Looks like painter didn't prep well...or mask well, he painted your carpet. Crying or Very sad

Yeah, that's not new rust, that's old rust...he painted right over rust. And where else does it lurk, you don't know. No easy fix there.

The pic of the trunk seal. I sandblasted my whole car down to bare metal. Later I peeled those trunk seal channels off and there was nothing but rust under them. I used a Mexican seal, but even if I didn't I would have replaced the channel. They are like $7 per 3 feet.
