I have an aetna blue '61 Belgian-built 356B normal roadster and it appears that the original upholstery colors were navy blue (dash, door caps, vertical behind door) AND linen or light gray (door panels, seats). In the 70's the car was painted Bali blue, and the interior was redone in all navy blue. I have heard tale of T5's having this two-tone treatment. The dash and door caps are absolutely original, and the original seats were under the seat covers. I will post some photos. _________________ 40-horses to freedom! |

I believe this to be the original dash upholstery, based on the staples used in the eyebrow, vs. tacks which are always used when redone, and other minor details. The grain of the dash and door caps is different than the more modern blue vinyl used for the door panels and seats....

The original seat upholstery was intact under the blue seat covers, of course, they razor-bladed the piping off. You can see the true color under where the recliner shielded it from the sun.....
