I bought a fastback...

When I went to look at it I realized it need work, nothing that I can't do (i have 2 bugs and a bus that I work on). When I paid for the fastback both doors opened perfectly. Then I had it towed to my house and there it sat.

When I finally got around to tinkering with it the drivers door wouldn't open. I pulled on it a few times real hard and this happened

I removed the fender so I could open the door. I have a spare door but can't get the hinge screws out...I've put a torch to them and and impact screw driver, I've soaked them overnight in PB blaster, my next resort is drilling the screws out and using an extractor to remove what's left.

Here are some more pics...I suspect the bottom hinge is the.culprit and needs to be smacked square again, but I'm open to opinion, advice, and suggestions

I use a #4 (Craftsman) Phillips bit on a 1/2" breaker bar w/extension & lots of pressure on the Phillips head bolts.
If you strip out the Phillips head then you have to use the proper size Easy Out with its enclosed drill bit.

I tried that as well in conjunction with a torch...frozen

The heads aren't rounded...just sealed in place with rust and coats on top of coats of paint

You're using a puny/short 3/8" drive. 1/2" drive breaker bar w/1/2" to 3/8" adaptor is twice as long with twice the power.

They are both 1/2" dude... the second one is as long as a breaker bar if not longer and I slid a pipe over the handle as well...I can hold a ruler or measuring tape up it if that helps

I had a late car that I parted out and the hinges/doors were stuck - used an impact screwdriver set and they came out.

I'd spray that down with Fluid Film - let it sit for a day or two, spray it on both sides (front and back of screws) again and then use the impact screwdriver.

Home Depot has an impact screwdriver set for about $20. Fluid Film works great but it takes a while to seep into some places.

I tried an impact screwdriver but it seemed like mine wasn't preforming as it should...I will try a new one and the liquid film penetrant over the weekend

Thank you for the suggestion

Yup, lower hinge mount is bent, and the hinges are rusted, causing the large door dent.
What kind of torch did you use? You need an oxy torch, and get those screw heads red hot. Then hit it with your impact driver. If you strip the center out, then it's drill time. Most times IF you get them hot enough, they'll come right out.

For those still interested here is an update

I bought a 1/2 electric (plugs into wall) impact gun and some mapp gas. I was able to bust the hinge screws loose. I straightened the bottom mount out and here is the finished product
