Found this last week but decided to post it as it's the 2nd one I've ever seen. It's an original EMPI type 3 header with original empi dual tip silencer muffler. My buddy Corey Bloom has the other one in existence but with a more common glass pack muffler _________________ ** HELL YEAH I'LL SELL IT TO YOU**

I rolled one of those back in the day on my old black 64 Resto Custom notch. Sounded like a rally car with that glas pak - lots of burble and backfire down shift. Cool as hell when you are 18 not so much at 45
Nice score.
Ran it on this for a bit too!

Hi jason this is the dual silencer muffler not loud at all but the other single tip glass pack was loud as hell. This one not so much that's why I'm gonna run this one _________________ ** HELL YEAH I'LL SELL IT TO YOU**

I picked up from Corey the blue plastic gas can accessory. Its a late 60's early 70's alternative to the flip spout type offered in the catalogs.

Saw an ad awhile back that had these rare pair of original type 3 towel rail bumper guards on a ghia bumper. Got in contact with the seller and made the deal/trade for a pair of ghia guards for the incorrect type guards he had on his ghia bumper. They have very light pitting on them perfect match to the OG set I'm putting together.
I also score 2 pairs of these hard to find type 3 air scoops

I wasn't going to start a new thread for this question, so I'm putting it here. Whether it's an exact fit for this thread or not, IDK..
Was this 1600 script for Type-2 or Type-3/34? I've read both, but mostly it leans towards being a bus script; 66? Just trying to get some confirmation.

I think we had a more recent look for that badge too
It's not Type 3 or type 34 unless it's another country
it looks most like the 1500 badge in the bus thread
I have a friend with a documented low mile '66 sunroof type 34. it's has the newer 1600 TL badge
Maybe if you had a 1500 squareback or bus, and got a dealer reconditioned 1600, they switched out the badge? _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

Looks a lot like the Porsche with part of the "1" filed/broken off.
The "6" is a little different at the top, though. Weird that they are so close including the pebble finish of the underline. |
