I was getting ready to install a set of Kadrons I picked up a while ago and when I removed my old DP intake ends I think I have found a crack in my head at the intake port dividing web ? I am new to VW so I am not sure if this is normal to find and I need to replace the head or it is ok to just run as is. You can see in the pic that the crack is in the port dividing web. This is the left side The right side looks ok not a defined crack but looks and feels like a casting line.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like the parting line from casting, not a crack. That's normal, and that would be a very unusual place for the head to crack. Clean up the gasket surface, it should be fine.
Whether or not you want to worry is up to you |

Definitely a casting mark. These heads crack between the valve seats and between the spark plug hole and valve seats. _________________ Casey--
