I'm heading to Japan for work in mid November for a couple of weeks and wondered what Vw stuff I could take in while over there? I know I'll be heading to Flat-4 for sure but what else is not to far from the Yokosuka area. _________________ My '65-Subaru EJ20 Turbo conversion |

Don’t know when just the mooneyes hot rod show in yokohama is.
But if you are there then think it is worth to pay a visit.

Where in Japan are you going? I've been to Japan several times (military), and didn't see one VW at all. I did see a ton of traffic, lots of people, and just general chaos everywhere...I couldn't get out of there fast enough! |

I would contact Ashman40. He's been over there a while and may still be. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!! I've seen a few air-cooled VWs at random times on the streets of Tokyo. There's a very large car show in February, I think, at Pacifico in Yokohama. It's a Mooneyes event. I've gone twice and it's worth attending.
A visit it Flat Four like you're planning is going to be worth it. It's a small shop but there's a lot of rare old parts there that you can gawk at. Probably won't spend more than an hour there.
While you're in Tokyo I recommend going to Odaiba. There's a car museum there with mostly Japanese cars but a few days ago they had an early beetle and pre A 356 on display. |
