I have a Dune Runner Mini Mercedes. Does anyone know what years these were produced? It's on a 65 pan with a 68 swingaxle, I'm trying to get some idea of when it might have been built and how much of what is there is original to the build. Thanks!

Here is some of the history I have about Dune Runner Buggies.
Partners started a company called Road Runner in the middle 1960s and there came a split between the partners, where one named his company Dune Runner and the other partner named their company Fun Runner. Both made similar body styles. The low side bodies started around 1968, before that they were the side were higher like a Meyers Manx.
Fun Runner also built fiberglass VW power trikes. It was somewhere in the 1970s as the dune buggy craze died down that body were stopped being made by both companies.
Roger and Linda Tebo were the owners of Fun Runner until they sold it several years ago. They sold parts for buggies and EZ canopies. One of their Sons work for In and Out Burger doing all the tile work in restaurants. He may have retire by now.
I don't recall the other guy name that owned Dune Runner. I have to look back through my old buggy magazines to see if I can find it.
Someone else may have more info or can correct what I written. _________________ Joseph

I've done work on one with the pickup rear. But I can't say for sure the production dates. I believe it was early 1970s. This ad shown above is from late in the production as it indicates "formerly called "Roadrunner". Use of that name and the roadrunner emblem found behind the grill on the one I worked on was brought to a halt by a lawsuit filed by Warner Brothers studios and Chrysler Corp.
