Yes, they're still selling them dry for Motocycles, fresh acid is always as close as the local Motocycle shop .

Dry they last for decades .

It's never a good idea to put a new battery into service without trickle charging it overnight .

I have these group 26 batteries in my 73 Thing, 67 bus, and 67 beetle. Basically same battery with identical specs as sold by Autozone….$59 plus exchange. Purchased from Rural King.

That positive terminal looks to sit pretty high with no protector over it…?
