I recently picked up this frame to start putting together with parts left over from a two seater I had. Been wanting a 4 seat for awhile now and found this one that was never completed or seen dirt.
Unfortunately who ever tabbed the car and added a couple tubes couldn't weld so I've been busy removing stuff like this

So I got most of the tabs removed and the stretch metal floor off which was a huge pain.
I've been collecting some parts and need to start mock up and get some things positioned to build mounts and check clearances on stuff.

I got the frame blasted and primered over the weekend so it will stop rusting.
I've started mocking up parts and measuring for hardware

This is.... titillating. Also you said "I cut out my..." which implies you own or have immediate access to a CNC Plasma table. Excellent.... I'm also pretty sure I see press brake marks on that part, clean bends man!
I have an old school car tabbed out old school, but I dig all the new school boxy-structure dimple-die tabs and mounts. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

Yes I do have a small table. Although I don't use it as much as I used to I couldn't imagine not owning it now. No need for flashy stuff but if you have the table and dies no sense in not using it!
I also just finished building a small brake to use in my press. This was it's first couple bends and I'm mostly happy with it.

Started working on some seat mounts today. Making the driver's side mount slide

Oooh that ain't no Tonka Toy plasma table.... looks like a real mechanized torch head and not a hand torch strapped to a fixed-focus gantry.
Sweet slider design for the drivers side! When I go PRP suspension seats in my car I'm going to do a variation of that.
This is definitely one of the best currently progressing builds on here. I'm getting a lot done but it's not cool tech-y stuff like this. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

Nearly forgot I had this harness tube coped and ready to go. Got the seats squared up and ready to set the back ones now. Wish I had more time in the day.

OoOOO man good work, I like the seat slide knob. Bump that harness bar up a bit onto the pillar tubes, your back will thank you if you take a tumble in the car. You want it about level with the tops of your shoulders, maybe an inch below at the lowest. The way you have low like that will compress your spine if you get thrown forward in the car. _________________ 1974 Chenowth 2RL #1244 Street Legal

I agree with you I originally coped it there to replace the old one exactly before seats were in. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet. I'm afraid of having too many dead tubes if I move it up along with the rear seat harness bar |

Yeah I love me some triangulation and multi-tube intersections as much as the next guy, but I had to do the same compromise with mine oh well.
I noticed, especially since your seats slide, you might get real close to the seat backs with the bar, check how how I did mine, just rolled the ends a bit with the bender.

I incorporated harness bars into my x. After getting punted off the road by a ram truck, I might have got carried away with some extra tubing.

YES!!!!! Upside down, forward impact, or even hard bump can all cause compressive fracture of the spine if the shoulder belts are installed wrong!!!!! And also if the belts are not put on right each time you get into the car. For instance if the lap belt is not snug before the shoulders are pulled down. Or if all the belts are loose. And that diagonal 'X' behind the seats will do a GREAT DEAL to protect heads if the car goes over sideways or gets T-boned by some knucklehead who isn't paying attention. _________________ Richard
