I’ve been using this plastic media to clean carbs and fuel pumps and other parts where you cannot risk damaging the factory finish or plating. I decided to try it on a case because this one will have all the oil galley plugs removed and passages brushed and swabbed clean. Others have used baking soda blast and this is similar and unlike other media this does not imbed in the material.

So it goes quick from dirty to clean in about five minutes here are before and after pics.

Since the corrosion has already started, how do you plan on stopping it?

I would imagine wiping the case down with some type of oil/lubricant will help.

Nice work Z.

If engine was put into service quickly it might just cover itself with oil mist but I’m thinking Gibbs metal treatment or possibly Corban. Applied properly a light coat of Corban would make translucent gold finish just like when it was new
