Like bugformance in Sac, is there something similar in San Jose or other Bay Area locations? The San Jose bugformance seems to have shut down.
Thanks!

Especially when you look at pictures of the streets around Berekley in the 60s/early 70s. VWs everywhere. A couple that I have seen showed over 50% of all cars in the pictures were Dubs. _________________ Larry in OB

I grew up there then, and yep, many of the cars were VWs (not 50%, but I get your drift). Parents of classmates had various Peugeot 403s and 404s, Simcas, Renaults (a friend's family had a Dauphine!). My next door neighbor drove a (English) Ford Prefect. Even my goofy Mother had a couple of Westys and a '69 Beetle (as a daily driver) during her life.
Up until the late 70's we had plenty of shops to buy parts from: RVEECO, Small Car World, Mekatron and two decent foreign auto parts stores. One in Albany sold nothing but Volvo parts. There was a wrecking yard that let me rifle through boxes of VW parts until I found the pop-out window latches that I needed for my '64. |
