Its's for my heater channel to floor pan. There is about 1/8-1/4" give when I stand on it and I weigh 290lbs, so not soo bad. I'm gonna treat the rust and then goop it up.
Both of these claim to bond well to steel. dry rock hard
Any thoughts on it?

I would use something that flexes there and or take care of why it moves so much but not rely on one solution for both issues. _________________ My beetle is not competing with your beetle. I have the yellow beetle in my town. There is a red one, a green one ......

The reason it moves is that the bottom 1/4-1/2 inch of the heater channel is rusted out on the back half of the passenger side. Luckily! the back corner is sold, so I think I can salvage it without replacing it.
But that leads us to why? It seems as if water is entering the body at the base of each rear fender because there is no bead.
This basically acts as a rain gutter sending water into my heater channels and the sill under them and into the floor pans.
So my plan is to, pull the fenders and install the bead, treat the rust, reinforce the heater channels in 2 or three spots with some Stiff metal T-brackets and stainless screws, bond the to the pan channel with panel adhesive. Then strip and rustproof (rust bullet) the pans and reinforce with a little glass. |

Here's a link with Heater Channel Patch Panels.

It's up to you if you don't want to replace the entire heater channel or not even if it's more practical to do so.
Cheap generic stainless hardware is brittle in case you have no experience with it.
I would do a competent patch job and seal it up. The heater channel is probably going to be worth replacing at some later date. _________________ My beetle is not competing with your beetle. I have the yellow beetle in my town. There is a red one, a green one ......
