Just wondering about this, I've got a speedwell supercharger waiting to go on my rebuilt engine with 1.4:1 rockers and a vintage speed abarth.
As the engine is getting built in the next couple months, I'm wondering if its worth investing in a WW 69.5mm crank to get even more torque.

I've heard that the Speedwell/Pepco runs best on a nearly stock engine. But i've also seen the Davey and Goliath gasser (love that car), with a 1600 engine and machined down carb.

Any ideas?

I would suggest contacting Ray at Speedwell.

Cheers,

It may be worth finding the posts by txoval. From memory, his engine was stock stroke but had a different cam, larger valves, ported head etc, but his experience may still help.

item one, i do not know the answer to your question.

item 2, 40 horse motors with better rockers run MUCH better than stock, and they do like to rev.

item 3, i can't imagine why you would not want to put in the 69.5mm crankshaft. displacement wise you are not really adding that much anyway. As long as the compression is in the right area?
