Hi All, working on Buggy 2 down in AZ. It's a tube frame with one piece body that has been hack to the bejeesus to get it all around the frame. On top of that, the roll cage that was supposed to be part of the frame was cut off. Never know what people are thinking sometimes. So, I have a spare, well used, 1970 1600sp in the garage that hasn't been run in 7-10 yrs. Stripped all the externals and did a major clean ( still filthy, but better), rebuilt the EMPI carb (it was full of mud). Did a bunch of other stuff to get it ready to fire, and fired.
Runs fine, smokes a bit (seafoam in the oil, might help, might not). Was fiddling around the top of the engine and touched the choke housing. HOT! is this supposed to get that warm? Seems like a bad idea to me. Currently disconnected and will run it without a choke for now. Warm here anyway.
Anyone have any knowledge/experience with this? |
