There are "0" engine, transmission or suspension or braking parts that fit a 914 from a beetle.

There "may" be a few electrical switches like wiper arms/motors, headlight switches etc....that fit from type 3 or type 4 VW....have to check........but transmissions are 914 and 911.

Front brakes come originally from a VW 411 (to Aug1972) and the VW 412 (Aug 1972 and on). The to 1972 calipers and discs can also be found on the VW type 3 of 1972 and 1973.

The 1.7L and 1.8L engines.....down to the last part number.....(except for the differsnces in sheet metal and heat exchangers).....were 100% identical to those found in the VW 411 and 412. In fact ....these engines came in those cars first.

Only the 2.0L 914 engine was unique ro the 914.
I am,sure others have a few answers.

If you look on the Automobile Atlanta site and write down all of your electrical component part numbers.....those that are only Porsche numbers ...but that also fit other cars.....if you Google them you will almost always find the part number prefixes for the other cars the parts fit. Ray

no interchange manual, and vw prices are the same as 914 prices for the same parts. The part number will tell you if it was originally vw when you are ordering parts for your car. These are some of the prefixes used on 914 part numbers that are the same as vw:
111 vw bug
113 vw super beetle
311 vw square back
411 type 411
021 type 411
022 type 411
211 type II van
