Pardon me if I missed the answer out there in samba land. Im trying to remove the little round switch from the lock cylinder. Is it as simple as yanking it out? I removed a small little screw in the ignition cylinder and tried to pull out the old switch with no luck. Any ideas?

There are four 6mm phillips head screws holding the steering column, remove those. The column will shift aft and now you can look up and see the lock assembly. There's a small, straight slot set screw to remove with a jewelers screwdriver. At this point the electrical side of the switch can be pulled towards the drivers side. It's tough, but can be done.
