Can someone provide guidance to installing the Electric Window Washer Kit below. It came with no instructions. Thanks in advance.

I just have a momentary switch on the dash for mine. Some people have installed a switch in the column which will make the washers word when you pull back on the stalk. Not sure if what they use is VW or just something they have bought from Radio Shack. |

I installed a momentary switch in place of the valve in the steering column - it wasn't too hard at all. I ordered up a small box of switches from Amazon (being careful of the diameter). One lead at the motor goes to a local ground (pretty sure I used one near or on the passenger side headlight tub), the other lead goes up the steering column onto the switch. Other side of the switch had a lead to a spade on the fuse panel... I want to guess #10, but that could be totally wrong - I'd have to look again.
Good luck! _________________ 1977 Westfalia 2.0 FI Skills EJ25 w SubaruGears 5sp

Thanks Everyone!
And sorry for my lack of experience in this area - I want to get this right.
Can you provide guidance on how/where to connect the wires - for both (the set circled in blue and the set circled in green) - see image below.
Thanks in advance!

Black is ground. Red is power. The two with the female connectors on it go into the back of the switch. _________________

I see 4 open wires -
2 for the switch (blue ciricle) and
2 for power (green circle), where black is ground/car body and red is ignition plus (15).
BTW: this washer bottle kit need to be more than half full with water to work.
Not the best solution with the pump in the middle... _________________ Rolf-Stephan Badura

Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate it!
Regarding the connection to the ignition, would this be to the fuse box where the previous Windshield Wiper connection is/was connected?
Also, what does "ignition plus (15)" mean? Is that the fuse size? |

clamp 30 - battery powered (always powered)
clamp 15 - ignition powered (only if engine is running)
etc.
See wiring diagram from ignition switch D to find the correct fuse clamps connected to it (15).
Or tell your model year of your car to help you to find the best fuse connection.

Take that orange wire tap thing and throw it away, spitting three times on the floor while you do it. ( clean afterwards)
Make sure the 12 V connection , red wire in green circle ) is on the right side of the fuse so that voltage is not present when the fuse is removed
Have someone familiar with electrics inspect your work when done. _________________ .ssS! |
