Toaster ovens are 20$ at wallmart.
you have no excuse for now getting one. it's cheaper than a torch. A good torch and MAP gas bottle your looking at 50$ min |
A side benefit. When you're not warming a crank gear.
You can heat a burrito, in the toaster oven!
Works great for those long wrenching nights.
The last crank gear I set. I warmed it in a bath of engine oil on the stove.
Fn pot of oil smoked out the house. But, I did get the gear on, on the first try. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Can a toaster oven do copper pipes?
Or, or thaw out something in the middle of a field?
It is hard to beat a propane torch - one of the best all around tools. |
the auto-liting bernzomatic is HIGHLY RECOMENDED
but you need to get a set of temperature crayons too, to do it right. |

You can also micro-wave the gear if you wrap it in wet paper towels.
AvE has a vid to explain the process, although it could be a joke, he also recommends shaking the brake clean until you can hear the ball rattle.

Tucker deep fries his fish and other foods in motor oil Is it 30 weight?
I love the Benzomatics. I have two.
I only use the temp crayons when I set fire to aluminum heads for pre-heating for TIG welding. Other aluminums get the same treatment.
In steels, I don't use the crayons. |
