Has any one had any experience installing a dished styled steering wheel in a 55 oval. I know I must use a shorter steering tube and shaft but what about the turn signal switch for semaphores. Is it a simple bolt on and use? Any advice on your change over would be appreciated. I found in my junk pile a steering tube and shaft and the steering tube has a male electrical end on it at the bottom. I don't know what year its from, but I'm sure it will work. |

You would need to swap the steering column and shaft, going completely to the '62-'67 style (or '60-'61 style, but the horn might be difficult.) The 3 wire turn signal switch they use should work for your semaphores no problem, the wire color codes should even be the same.
The tab on the bottom of the later steering columns hooks to the horn, with an aftermarket steering wheel it may have to provide a horn relay ground path instead of the horn ground path. _________________
