17x7 escras

Hi, I just recently bought the reman escra wheels the specs are 17x7 +42 offset. We are currently running a 64 trans so from what I understand it has shorter axles. We put a 1” spacer in the rear with the longest studs possible. The rims still come really close to the body mount behind the spring plate. Does anyone else have this issue and would they know the solution for this? Please let me know! Thanks!

I don’t have much to add, except to say that the car looks great! My ‘56 is also running Escras, but has long axles. It had type 3 drums on the back, but I recently swapped them out for wide5 discs which actually brought the wheels back in a little.
At some point you might want to look into a narrowed beam, depending on rubbing issues and/or personal taste. I went with a 5 inch beam, but in retrospect think a 4 incher would have worked out.
Oh yeah....I need a rim, one’s bent😢
