My ‘66 went to a new home today. I rarely keep cars more than 2 or 3 years before getting bored and move on to something else. Probably going to get an Audi S4 or a P71 Crown Vic now. I’ll probably still lurk around here every now then.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me out over the last few years on here.

Good looking car. You'll miss it, especially if you put some work into it.
It was less than a year before I had to have another one.
Have fun with whatever you end up with. _________________ "A poor workman always blames his parts... Ya gotta have skillz to hang junk." -johnnypan |

Interests come and go. I'm glad to see you used and enjoyed the car for what it was meant for while you had it, a preferable situation versus the typical case of folks leaving a car to rot while saying "I'm gonna restore it someday"... and now it's passed on to another to hopefully get the same use and enjoyment that you had.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, maybe we'll see you again in a decade or so when the Bug bites you a second time. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I’ll still pop in here and there to see what’s going on.
Oh and I might go check out a corvair project this weekend _________________ 2015 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition

Thanks for taking the time to update us on your Beetle, and for the photos. Glad you took the finished Beetle on some road trips.
VW friend has a primo stock '69 Corvair Monza Coupe which I could look over closely last year. That last generation has some excellent features for a classic driver- large trunk, flat floor, compact overall size, nice styling, unusual engine sound, and independant rear suspension. Better higher-speed highway car. Hope that aircooled alternative works out for you. |

I saw one a couple days ago. Blocking an intersection. Its driveshaft was laying on the pavement. Apparently not an uncommon situation with the aluminum driveshaft in those cars. |
