I am having a few issues and am wondering if I am missing something.
I went to install this radio...

once you pull the knobs off the distance between the shafts are different than the uncut dash on the 56. I can slot the holes to get the radio to fit but once I do that the slotted holes will be to large for the knob collar to hide. Is this radio supposed to have a faceplate ?

While I have an early Big-M in my Oval...

Many moons ago I had a '64 that had that exact radio that I yanked from an oval & yes, it had a very similar, if not the exact same face, as the example shown above...

I might even have an actual photograph of it somewhere but I would seriously have to dig for it...
