Just got my electric bill and there was an add inside for a "Sengled Boost LED bulb with built-in Wi-Fi repeater".
It provides:
*Extend your Wi-Fi network (2.4 Ghz only) up to 100 feet
*Dimmable LED light bulbs
At just $29.99 you can improve dropped connections, slow download speeds and dead zones in your home-basement, patio, and more.
I'm no computer guy but my "mancave" is in my basement and the signal at times cuts out. The router is upstairs at the opposite corner of the house. Is this something worthwhile? Is there something better without costing a bunch? I have no idea what 2.4Ghz is so put it in laymans terms that I can understand. |

I did the same for my garage old laptop. Ya the weefee signal was Ok but why not hard wire it. Not drops in signal or anything like that.
Suggest is to run a cat 5 or cat 5e line to your basement from the router. Simple to do. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

What powers it when you turn the light off?
I bought a under $30 range extender for my synagogue to provide coverage to a far off corner. Took less than 2 minutes to configure. _________________ Glenn
