As the title says, I'm installing some gauges and want to light them from a relay My plane is to use the first position, Terminal 50d, as my on/off switch for the relay. Have a look at this sketch and tell me if it works. Thanks dgsaz

Yes, it will work, but why bother with a relay? Instrument lights draw very little power. Just run direct from the switch...

Well, I used the relay. However, I added a bit of load to the system. Up in the cab, the overhead gauge pod, the lach lights and a new 25 watt running light on the back corner.

This time the switch doesn't supply any lighting voltage it simply trips the relay that lights up everything when you turn on the running lights. Basic stuff for you but I've never done much electric and I find it pretty interesting.
