This is for what is likely an OE gas cap. It uses the ignition/door key.

A while ago, I had to take apart the cap to disable the lock.

Could rain water get in through the damaged key hole into the fuel tank?

Thanks

Neil.

Maybe but I doubt enough to make a
difference. A piece of tape would make sure.

I installed a newer cap, also with damaged key hole, and covered hole with Gorilla tape but should test the old cap that way.
