What is the best way to clean the bakelite fuse box? I bought a restored bakelite flasher that looks perfect. I don't remember who did it to ask. It looks NOS.

Depends on what's on it, mag wheel cleaner makes the contacts look like new if they are green and corroded, if there's paint or something stuck to the bakelight it'll need something more aggressive. Luckily bakelight resists most chemicals, start with brake cleaner and move up to laquer thinner if needed, avoid scratchy things like scotchbrite or steel wool though, it's still soft on the shiny surface. Test any chemical on an out of sight area first just in case.

Patience with the above chemicals and a variety of brushes- for teeth and paint.

Are you wanting to clean the metal contacts, or the bakelite itself?

I googled "how to clean bakelite" and got many hits.
