Front beam number

Hello,

I've been dismantling my front beam to repaint it and I noticed a number on the right side shock tower thing (not sure what it's called). it appears to be stamped in white on top of the black paint, What I wondered is if this is an original VW front beam or a replacement?

Original. VW changed from stamped to painted front beam serial numbers toward the end of model year 1961. You can look up the numbers for link pin beams on the VIN charts.
