Some midweek ramblings for a slow day at work.

Everett posted this explanation back in 2006 on rocker sills.

Text said: “2 Deluxe rockers trims.
Top trim is early and has more of a point. No noticeable maker logo.
Bottom trim is later with GHE logo.
Length is basically the same - The pointy trim is a tiny bit longer because of the points.
Change occured in 1959?”

I was just looking at the hornbecker sill

Looks very similar to the ‘late’ style.
Interesting Question

The two centred holes are. I don’t think the one on the join line is if that’s what your referring to?

No takers to post up a pic of an original rocker trim?
Any years welcome to help us understand.

We were never quite sure if the trim on the Kohlruss was og Vw stuff off an early donor bus ( it also has rear corner trims, but no rear bumper trim) or hand made. anyways, it is pointed.

Looking at those early rocker trims, it becomes pretty obvious, that they cut out the back part of the aluminium profile stock, then wedge shaped and bent the seperate two ends and gas welded them together. Then obviously dressed and buffed the welds.
