With COVID, some seem to find a little more free time nowadays. So instead of looting and protesting, I'm finding myself working a VW angle when I can. Me? I'm waiting for the next disaster to lock itself in. Not of human cause, though not out of the question, but more grotesque like hundreds of lightning strikes causing fires in Cali. I go as needed.
I headed up to my good friend Gizmo Bobs today to see him and the latest Type 3 dooings he's been up to. We had lunch - thanks Bob! and some Type 3 stories with Mario of German Folk fame. It was great to see my old friend with promise of future meets together!

Last Saturday I was able to pay Tram a visit and pick up a good portion of T34 stuff needed to make a final convertible project. I wasn't able to get it all in this load, so a second trip will be needed for a parts car, front clip, and roof clip. Any leads on a good shipper would be appreciated.
I have traveled the I5 from San Diego to Seattle so many times I'm sick of it. Well, mostly the belly. That Almond-Olive-Dusty Butthole portion from the South part of Shasta to the North part of the Grape Vine. You can have it.
We busted out of Seattle bright and early - 10am and headed South to Springfield. Met up with the Tramster, socialized for a hot second, loaded what we could into the 16ft enclosed trailer and took off to Fyes. Brian had a lower section Gizmo Bob needs to finish his squareback project, so we swung in to pick that up, said hello to Brian then got back on the road. We made it to the North end of the Grape Vine at the base of the hill and had to sleep for a couple of hours before heading back out and to the final destination of Romona CA.
For those that know, Ive been after a T34 vert for the last 12 years. This is all the stuff collected over the years to make that car. I intend it to ba a 64 S version of what a T34 Cabrio may of looked like. This is all fake and open to some interpretation, but I hope to be as accurate as possible given the times. All the known T34 cabrios out there that are believed to be of Karmann origin build are based around 63's. I figured if I was going to do a fantasy car, it would be the "SPORT" model.

This was always intended to be a true Cabriolet complete with mocked up functional top frame, but it's the Meister's deal now.
Jason, when you find and sort all the weird metal bits and trim pieces I can fill you in on what the vision was when you are ready. Body is already reinforced quite well around the passenger compartment, leaving the front and rear crumple zones, IMO. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
