I was going through parts yesterday and came across these early emblems. I believe to be NOS. Can anyone tell me what they are worth in this condition? I want to place an ad in classifieds but want to be accurate in my description. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Ive been out of state working for the past 3 months on and off with fires and water damages in the PNW. Sitting alone in a hotel room and the internet, well can get you in trouble.

Laughing

I've always had a thing for dual carbs. I love how they work in unison and all the bits and bobs that go with them. I tracked some goodies down on the Samba mostly and went on a shopping spree. When I got how, it was early Christmas.

While I was out, I stayed in Longview WA - home of Avery's VW. Those of you that know, know they have been around for a long time and a staple of the PNW for VW parts. THey are still kicking and have lots of good stuff on hand.

One of the unwritten laws in the VW Hobby is hoarding. The Horder Hobbyist is at the top of their game when they accumulate parts for cars they don't have or way more multiples then they could possibly need. Laughing

I've been on a Dual Carb Kick lately. I always loved the engineering behind them. I could be a happy camper collecting the 64-67 all day long.

Some quick clean up to stash away for another day.

Pulled the Ghia out of the trailer and put it into the chicken coop for now. Once I get the 74 Bus sold I can play more with this and the notchback. I still have another 34 body to get, a front clip and a sunroof clip.

I hope for a speedy sale of the bus, as this is one of those holy grail cars that needs to be seen.

Let me walk you through this one since you haven't had the scoop yet. This body, replace the nose section with a far better one from my 64 donor (vin tag in it), put it on the same vin correct 64 pan after its restored. Making a 64 S Vert from three cars.

Wink There you go. Now you know.

Wink

Went to Pedros yesterday to pick up the roof rack for the notch. Its the last one Pedro made for sale. He made it special for me and did the original design. Gracias amigo! Russell also went and picked up his 64 T34 Ghia door panels Pedro fixed. We then went to have some amazing El Prieto Birria Tacos. BOMB!

Today I headed over to Lees to watch Pedro and Lee put together Lees motor for his 62 T34 build. Love seeing the first year parts going on.

Then back to the house to start rebuilding my Euro headlights for my 34 vert project.

Busy 1500 weekend. Cool

Cleaned up some single and dual port manifolds - ready to store. The single ports are sprayed in Anthracite and the dual ports are sprayed in charcoal gray.

Played around with an accessory antenna for the 64 Notchback and also took some time to show the differences between a Type 3 Blaupunkt faceplate and a Type 34 Blaupunkt faceplate.

Then dinked around with the Blaupunkt faceplates. The Type 3 is on top and the smaller Type 34 is on the bottom.

Hi. I've been looking online for front brake cylinders for my '64 notch. Anybody know who might have 1 or 3?

I wonder if Karmen Ghia or Transporter cylinders might work.

They’re not widely available. If you have some that need rebuilding you can contact Jim Adney, [email protected] to get the job done. Reasonably priced and decent turn around time.

Since you’re here and you have a nice looking car that qualifies for club membership, if you’d like to join the club email me at [email protected]

Well, Look to my other post. It is a 1964 1500S Notch. I think I am definitely a member. Have been lusting for a notch for decades and this is a dream come true.
None of the issues I see in my new project frighten me. A bit daunting. The hard to source bits are there and attached. It is the issue of the Right (Passenger) floor pan sourcing which is my biggest challenge currently.
I am looking to maintain Original look logic. (NO SLAMMING) and the same for the dual carb engine.
No expectations for show car quality/garage queen quality. But not a daily driver either. Just your basic notch in a functional restored condition.

Those things in pretty good shape. Can't wait to see where you go and how it turns out. Post up more pictures or your link to the resto of this thing.
