Hey guys!
started restoring my 1965 Europe variant panel van.

i tried to order seat upholstery from Jbugs but seems to get lost with the years and color, Does anyone knows the color of these seats and the texture?i would really appreciate the help!

Nice to see a typical old weathered age destroyed T34 upper dash next to a survivor. We need some quality repops for sure.

Some of the most hard to find pieces for the Type 34 Ghia in any condition. The upper/lower dash pads and a good column. Note how the early lower pad is meant for the early column.

Vintage upgrade for the T34 Convertible project. I've had the 356 rims blasted along with the seat frames so I can paint and set aside as done. Initial work has finished and need another coat of the Wurth paint and some wet sanding to come out nice and smooth.

The Wurth silver tends to dry in air during application and leaves the surface a bit rough. Its easily smoothed out with some 600-800 fine grit wet sanding.

The Anthracite paint from WW has come in and will be final coating them soon.

All initial base coating was done with left over Gray and black paints I had in various rattle cans. So I cleared out at least half of my partial used stuff to get a thick, protective coat on first before final application of correct color.

I bought a repop of the Karmann skript and its seen side by side with the real deal. The repop is stainless, chunky laser/water cut stock with threaded nut attachments on back. Nice quality piece if you can not get the real deal.

And situating your knobs is always key

The coil in my 1965 Notchback seemed to stop working and I replaced it with an aftermarket.
The failed coil was a blue 6 volt Bosh.
The blue one and aftermarket silver were both the same 'normal' size I have always seen.

A 65 Bug I have had its coil die yesterday and I looked at its coil and noticed the coil was shorter than a normal coil like I have in the notchback.
The 65 Bug has many original parts as I assumed it was some original coil.

So I looked thru my spare parts and found a boxed NOS short coil in the Notchback parts the previous owner gave to me.

I did some searching but could not figure out if the shorter coils were only used in the Notchback in 65/66 for some models or if the shorter coils were also used in the Bugs.

Anyone know if the NOS short coil was ever used for Bugs in 1965?

the bakelite color looks right but the stamp is newer. the old stuff looked like this. I didnt look up the part number but maybe late 6v industrial pump or something?

I am currently working on rebuilding the front beam of my early (12/62) notch and I am looking for some information.

1. does any one have the repair manual for the early models and would it be possible to get scans of the section with the front suspension? All I have found so far is for later models and they are different.

2. I am going to make a mold for making new upper torsion arm seals. All I have are the fragments of the old seals does any one have good seals? I need some measurements. Things like ID, OD, and the cross section if possible.

Stubbys were used on 64's due to the placement by the air cleaned intake. I had a longer TE6B4 there before I realized they were different. Otherwise I've always seen the stubby on later 60's Buses.

Almost impossible to find a Type 3 dressed Blaupunkt now a days. This one is in working order, very nice and complete. Still has the correct radio knobs for VW.

That is super nice. I am on the lookout for a nicer radio and surround for my Squareback. They are not easy to come by these days!
