I've tried acetone (dangerous I know), Goof-Off w/ scotch brite pad, hand sanitizer, and simple green. Nobody ever sits back there so I'd rather not drop the money on new covers. I'm already many thousands over budget on this car plus, the covers are in great shape with no rips or holes. Thanks for any ideas.

since you said you tried acetone, I suspect it's not spray paint, but spray dye. You aint getting that off - just re-dye it a color you like

if it's truly spray paint, oven cleaner will work but keep a hose nearby and use a brush. Graffiti remover, aircraft remover etc

If it's vinyl dye, lacquer thinner should get it off. It won't be magic, it will require a bit of scrubbing. It could also damage the seat and you'll need a respirator as proper lacquer thinner is nasty stuff. Can you get it in California still?

Or redye it like the others have said. No chance of damage that way.

If you've already used the stuff you mentioned, it aint coming off. I'd paint with some SEM paint that is made for color changing vinyl material. Then paint it whatever color you want.
I like to prep vinyl with MEK, but I'm not sure if you can still get it in California.

Goof Off in the aerosol can worked the best if you scrub right after applying it but it wont be 100% removed. All the nooks and crannies of the basketweave are too much. I've got some SEM vinyl paint in the mail. Oh well. Thanks for all the advice.
