Spring peepers for the first time last evening! We don't have "woods" here so they are not wood frogs... Garter snakes have been out and about for a week now. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. The carp-bees are still here doing their thing despite the very convincing (to my eye) fake paper bag hive I put up.
Probably because carp-bees are not hive builders they don't know what this bag is supposed to be impersonating.
So I went back up on the ladder and shot some Spectracide Pro Wasp Bee and Hornet Killer up into the fascia just under the roof line. I'll look again tomorrow for activity.
At the very least I have learned that non-hive builders don't feel threatened by hives, assuming that that old farmers trick even works at all. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Tell me about it. Years ago while wearing flip-flops I inadvertantly stepped on a hornet hole and got stung right between the toes. Ooo, that smarts! haha _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? No peepers yet this year. No standing water, too dry. Let's hope for some wet snow or rain. Lots of it please! _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. (The mass media age) |

Got plenty of water in New England this year. Peepers while it's snowing? Happens every year when you get close enough to Canada.
You would squeak too if you had sex in ice water.
