My aftermarket CB cam gear seems to a bit small for my case so I looked in my stash to see if I had a +1 gear I could have milled. Unfortunately I don't, but I did find a gear that I'm not sure what it is.

I have:
-1
+5
0
00

What is the difference between a 0 and a 00?

I thought this would be an easy answer for someone.

Anyone know the size difference between a 0 and a 00 OG cam gear??

Zero is zero. Mount them up and check the backlash.

Maybe the guy whos job it was to stamp the number, got distracted and he stamped it twice.
Or maybe he thought that was a good idea.... to distinguish the size mark from the alignment mark.

Check the gear backlash and put your own numbers on it.

I guess I'll just lay them in the case when I tear it back down for the N-th time. I thought maybe the 0 and the 00 might mean something to someone.

If I find a better fit than the CB gear I have now I'll grind the rivets and find someone to machine it to fit the aftermarket cam I'm using.

Do you need help finding a +1 ? FYI should you need a bolt on +2 I have. I ended up using a +1 Brazilian bolt on cam gear. I’m sure I have an old VW +1 rivet style too. Let me know. I’m also hitting a swap meet Saturday and could keep an eye for a bolt on style.

Thx for the offer. I might tear the short block down tonight if I have the energy. Been a rough few weeks at work..

I'll measure my CB gear backlash, then lay the OG cams I have in there and see what I get.

During my build the CB alu cam gear didn't work so my builder got me a good used stock VW cam gear that did fit, drilled it out and bolted it to my cam. Problem solved.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the direction I'm headed. This build as been a slow pain in the @rse.
