Problem is even if you get the length just right, the next hurdle is getting the front and rear of that rod clocked correctly. A little off and you will only be able to get the bus into only 1, 2, & reverse, or 3, &4 only. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Probably best to find someone local to you that has same front shift rod to loan you. Then build a quick jig off the loaner to fix yours. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Yes I think your right. Thank you for posting.
I wonder if the “clock direction ” part of the Rod is similar on all the rods made for split busses. _________________ Jakob |

Not sure I am following you... Main thing is that there have been plenty of new reproduction rear shift couplers that turn out to have the front and rear ends not aligned causing shifting problems. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Front shift rod for early buses, before vin 835 xxx, is different than late busses _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

Any companies alleged to be better (or worse) than others on the 'clock' accuracy? I need one for the 65, and no used ones are availabe locally so will need to order a repro... _________________ Craig K

My truck is same year 1963, just switched to CSP rod with extra long bend for my adjustable beam clearance.
I get 32 and 3/8”
Good luck |

Thanks a lot.. i really apreciate it. I was very reluctant to buy a reproduction rod. Now I don’t need to. Since mine is already cut in half I will make the “clocked” part of it adjustable. Thanks again, I owe you one 👍
What’s this??
