Yeah, the one the US is actually competitive in, despite us paying them 1/4 what themen get for getting their asses kicked.
Enjoyed the weekend games
Italy upset Australia on a extra time goal
France looks incredibly strong with lLe Sommer attacking and Renard defending
Cristiane gets the hat trick for BRA VS Jamaica...first appearance in WWC
England Brexited Scotland 2-1, LucybBronze looks strong
Us first game Tuesday. We are very inexperienced in the back line compared to last team. Defenders win championships. _________________ .ssS! |

the england - scotland match had good viewing figures in the uk, that said england v scotland in anything draws people in here. the women's game seems to be growing in popularity/coverage, I hope it doesn't get spoilt by big money and egos. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Im cancelling any planned trips to Thailand or traveling on the Irish passport.
Yikes, that was a drubbing, 13-0
About half the goals were really fine strikes that were going in on any team, the other half were garbage collections from a very inexperienced Thai Back line.
Goal differential does count. The US were classy and spent sometime with the Thai team at the end, congratulating them for being there on the stage, _________________ .ssS! |

weren't so classy about celebrating goal once in 2nd half.
In our team (U10F), we teach girl to respect opponent. You can be happy, but be respectful about it.
Yes, goal difference count, but respect as well.
I have alot of respect for players (male and female) who do not celebrate their own goal once their team is far ahead, no matter the sport.
Not celebrating does not mean to stop trying to score goal, just not to bragg about them. _________________ 1964 Turkis Flipseat |

Maybe, but that would require a revamping of the tie-breaker criterion as well. |

I'm not a soccer fan but I feel the celebrations were over the top, and the fans ate it up which made it even worse for me. No humility on the fans or players parts in my opinion. However, I bet the fans would have a totally different opinion about the celebrations if they lost 13-0. |

France Norway was a great game.
France could win this thing, best balanced team I’ve seen so far. _________________ .ssS! |

Renard is such a giant of a player (both skill and height).
I'm rooting for Canada (obviously), but i wouldnt mind seeing France win the thing. _________________ 1964 Turkis Flipseat |

Yeah, that's not how sporting events like the World Cup work. When the women bring in the viewership and, therefore, the ad/sponsorship revenue, they'll get paid what the men do.
World Cup 2018, Russia:
$6 billion in revenue
Prize money divided up to teams yielded nearly 7% ($400 million)
Average game attendance: 47,371
Average live TV viewership over tournament: 191 million
World Cup 2014, Brazil:
$4.8 billion in revenue
Prize money divided up to teams yielded 7.5% ($358 million)
Average game attendance: 53,592
Average live TV viewership over tournament: 280 million
Women's World Cup 2015, Canada:
$73 million in revenue
Prize money divided up to teams yielded 13%
Average game attendance: 26,029
Average live TV viewership over tournament: 86 million
The estimated revenue for the current tournament is $131 million. As of three days ago, average attendance was at 18,405... in football-loving Europe.
And let's not talk about the fact the USWNT lost to a boys U-15 team by three goals two years ago. Prior to that, the team lost to England and France, scoring zero goals in those two matches. The USMNT deserves all the criticism it gets, but the USWNT shouldn't be put on a golden pedestal... IMHO.
FYI: Most of those Thai women work for an insurance company and are not professional football (soccer) players. _________________ ~Kamz

Nope! I'll be watching USA v UK too, finster. And the Netherlands v Sweden match too.
I'm hoping for a USA v Netherlands final -- go USA! |

The women actually passed the men in gate revenue this year
Comparing world wide revenues isn’t meaningful to the pay inequity between the US men and women, which OSC why the Mens USNT has issued a supporting statement for the Women’s USNT action To get pay equity. _________________ .ssS! |
