Sounds like it may be at the end of its adjustment. If you can't tighten it any more then it's probably due for replacement. Their are 2 cables by the way 😜 _________________ Thanx, DLT

Are you saying cables are stetched and need replacement or brakes need adjustment? Assumong rear brakes then hand brake. Adjutment nut is way down but is it normal to have the spikes of ends of cable so far away from brake mechanism? Will post pic |

@Drtrash - 1) adjust your rear brake shoes and then see if the emergency brake handle travel has improved. 2) make sure the brake cable sheath clips are in place and not allowing the brake cable sheaths to move around when you pull the hanel, and 3) that any adjustment available on the cables is adjusted
see photos below. if none of that helps then new cables. compare the new cables to the old ones to make sure they are shorter.
adjust brake shoes from the back of the backing plate:
make sure these sheath clips are there and attached:

well if you can get more adjustment out of them, then do so. it might be new cables time. |

Hylomatt is right. Make sure your rear shoes are adjusted correctly - then you should have about 4 "clicks" on the handle pull to have the brake set. If you're not able to get close to this, it might be time for a new set. Good luck. _________________ Thanx, DLT
