well i finally got 'the 62' on the road so i thought i would introduce it here. the story goes that i bought it at bug-o-rama in sept 04 from rich cantu. i tow barred it home about 800 miles and parked it in the garage. it had fiberglass fenders on it when i got, but i really wanted some german steel to cover the tires, so i made a phone call to john at vintage veedub and scored some front fenders off a 60 he was cutting up, the rears were in the car when i got it. fast forward to may this year i decided to get 'the 62' on the road. i slammed a spare motor i had laying around in it, replaced all the brakes, had the seats recovered, installed a volksfab narrowed beam with cb dropped spindles, and dropped the rear 1 inner notch. it's been a blast to roll in it.
as found
at home the next day, after 800 miles with the tow bar
the interior, og black paint
in the garage next to my 57
almost ready
ready to roll
it's first show
a photo somebody else took at the vintage meet
thanks for looking...
