|
|
Hello,
Just did a transmission fluid flush and filter replacement on my 2000 EVC. When tightening the last bolt on the pan it kept spinning with the torque wrench set to 12nm. Backed out the bolt and sure enough aluminum threads came out with it.
Any wisdom for fixing this particular issue? Don’t want to do any further damage to the case. Thinking heli-coil, or I’ve read of others using a longer bolt with a lock-nut (honestly not 100% sure how that helps). Are the holes much deeper than the stock bolt?
Thanks! _________________ Cream Puff

For anyone in the same boat. I measured and the holes are tapped deeper than the 20mm of the stock bolt. Replaced with an M6x25 and it was able to torque it down okay. _________________ Cream Puff
