I got you pictures and sent a reply.

The paint you're using is close... but not that close. I went to 4 auto paint suppliers and all 4 said they couldn't match it due to the "hammer tone". One said he could get close, so i spent $20 and bought a quart.

It was close, but not up to my standards, so i removed the paint and painted the distributor black.

Here's a very nice engine with a repainted Bosch 019. This is probibly the same paint you're using. It looks nice, but i can tell even if others might not.

When i restore a blue 019... i either clean it up as best i can, or i paint it black.

I do have a few NOS caps left, but I only offer them to people that buy my restored distributor and all tuneup parts.

Finding a NOS cap is a matter of luck.

The Bosch 6 volt Blue coil can be bought new from a number of places. But the NOS ones are made in Germany, have a brown top and the bracket is like the one i have. The new ones are made in Brazil and have a black top.

De-lurking...

Could that paint on the original be Hammerite paint? Eastwood carries it.

http://www.eastwoodco.com

and I think its also available in cans and can be mixed.
