My son bought a house last year and I told him I wish i painted my garage when I bought it 35 years ago. So a few weeks ago he asked me to help him paint his and organize it.
I just got home after spending 48 hours there helping him do just that. Only problem is the walls were 18 year old bare sheetrock and the garage is 20x25x12. It took 5 gallons of primer and 3 gallons of color and 15 hours for the 2 of us to do it.
We also put up 4 bike hooks, built a bench on the stair landing and bought materials for a few other project including a 4'x8' hanging platform for over the workbench we built a few months ago.
I'm just too old for real manual labor.
Here's the workbench and bare walls.

Very nice maybe a pegboard to hang tools near bench and of course a bench vise. I’m going to paint floor with this industrial paint. Reflects light back up
Easy went right over old tile floor, tough as nails. |

The day after I bought my house I painted the whole garage white and then installed florescent lighting and peg board when it was completely empty(16 years ago). The white paint helps make it brighter inside so I have more light when working on my cars. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

Nice tall garage too, perfect for a Bus with a roof rack |
Interesting comment. As I looked around this nice looking garage, I didn't see any VW parts nor VW's?

He has plans for some sort of tool storage and the addition of a 1x4 nailer around the walls. I told him if he puts up pegboard he needs to put furring strips so the board is away from the wall.
He wants to live with it fist to see where wants to put things. He also has 2 more bikes to hand but not sure where. _________________ Glenn

I guess the doors are 7'.
BTW, my friend is finally building his "dream" garage... it's ENORMOUS. I told him that one of the doors should be taller for a hightop. But he's a Cheby man and said that's the next owners problem.

Looks like 8' doors, that entry door should be 6'8"
A basket ball hoop for the grand kids would fit nice in there. _________________ "Albatross"! |

Give your head a shake man! Daily drivers have glass and paint so that they are weather proof. Garages are for projects, don't clutter them up with things that don't need to be in there! |

Agree - definitely looks taller than my garage, I can tell by the height of the rails, unless that person painting is 5' tall. _________________ How to Post Photos

Since I took that pic on a Friday after hours the workmen were gone but I will get the product name next week. They covered the tile floor by grinding and then chemically cleaning. Product seems to be self leveling and it took at least 72 hours to harden up. That 4 holer is actually a 6 holer and it smells bad on a Monday morning when it’s a full house after a weekend of cheap beer and hard boiled eggs. The tile floor soaked up piss which is why they went to this other flooring. Ah the things we learn.

Yep, 5 panels should be an 8' header height, easy. That's becoming the standard in many remodels and customs. |

I'm thinking it's gonna be tough to see the washer and nut you just dropped given all the pattern in the finish, but maybe that's just me. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?
