Where's the opening on those Berg alternator stand breathers? It looks sealed. Does it face the shroud?

If it has the regular cap it is sealed, goes nowhere. You have to use one or more of the hoses as vents.

The vented cap is one like on old v8’s. It has some kind of fiber or filter media. The baffles inside the tower are supposed to remove the oil from the air.

I recently purchased a CB breather. This might be a stupid question, but how are people tightening the filler nut on these. I have a socket (sort of) that I put on an extension on my socket wrench. It works great for the original fillers, but I couldn't really get things tight because the baffled part of the CB breather got in the way of the wrench.

I also had to grind down some of the outside of the box to stop it from butting against my generator stand.

It takes alittle patience, a big screw diver and a hammer, or one of these

I've just fitted a CSP breather box , I used the standard VW screw fitting for use with the original tower. The screw fitting.... i modified it using a 1mm cutting disc to cut a notch across the face of it where those 2 little notches are, then i used a grinding disc removal spanner that fits into the notches on the screw and used that to tighten it down, The O ring squashes down a lot.. so it needs retightening several times till its fully seated

Got a fast fab breather box on the firewall in my bus. Works well and cleanable too.
