My front only system has been working for a couple of months now.
I have used it for AC a few times. Cools pretty good. But it is basically not really hot outside, yet. Cooled me fine as the van had hot boxed like it always does.
I am LOVING the heater, too! As others have noted it is not as warm as the original. It is the difference between really really hot and really hot. I have the rear heat too which warms the rest of the van.
I expect if the rear AC were working it would do just as much better cooling as the rear heater does warming up. I plan on a propane heater like a Propex or Truma sometime when I find a deal (missed a new Propex for half off by a few hours....sigh...)
I am happy with the front AC so far.
Now it is on to a head unit...... _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!
