I'm hoping to use Flat 4 5.5x15 rims (link below) on my '71 Standard Beetle AND install a 2.5" dropped spindle disc conversion kit from CB performance. At issue is I don't know if this combination will work, the rim description gives offset, but I don't know the backspacing. I've sent CB an inquiry, but hope this will get a response faster. At this point, I'm not married to a particular tire, so I don't have specific dimensions there. I'm just hoping someone here has tried this combination and what the results were.

Features
• Flat 4 Slotted Dish Wheel (15" x 5.5")
• 4 x 130mm Lug Bolt Pattern
• 7.85kg (17.31 lbs.)
• Offset +17 (17mm)

I think the backspace on those is about 4 icnh. About the same as a Riviera.

With drop spindles and those rims you will have issues.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Their response was that there be no problem with the combo, so it’s on order. I’ve heard lots of good things about CB so I’m hopeful that they’re right. I’ve been burned by “tech support” before so my fingers are crossed.

Those are dished wheels, whereas you really want flat faced wheels, when lowering a VW.
At stock height no problem, but lowered you might have problems?
