Ok so here’s the deal. I am hearing a clunking sound in the rear drivers side of my van. Now I knowwwwwww there has been tons of threads about cv joints/ clunking/ noise. I feel this one is different though. This is my setup.
Burley rear disc conversion.
930 cv joints and upgrades axles (both sides)
Burley rear hub (both sides)
New hub bearings (both sides)
New stub axles and flanges
Fox 2.0 shock
Schwenk coils
Redline grease
All of these parts are only 3,000 miles old
So a couple of days ago I started to hear a clunking sound from what sounds like the drivers side.my first though is cv Joints. Checks my cv joints and they are good to go. When I turn the van right or left sharp, the noise is there but when I brake the noise is completely gone. Also the noise is intermittent. So far the cv joints look good. Tires are good and rotated. Rear disc brakes look good. Flanges and stub axles look good.
Any help on this I would greatly appreciate. |

| Wheels are not loose. They are torqued to 90 ft lbs. |

Torqued when the other work was done 3,000 miles ago?

I'd check every bolt on both sides, caliper bolts, shock bolts, etc.

I’m betting a shock bolt is loose... WAG on my part..... 
With that much upgraded parts, it will be interesting to hear what they find the source was....

Is the clunking sound consistent with mph? rpm? Or is it random?

| Every bolt is tight. The clunking sound is consistent with speed. As I go faster it increases. I have not tried to center the axle. I thought since the axles and cv joints were upgraded, this was not required. |

| I have the upgraded axle for the 930 joints. They do not have grooves in them. I’ll jack up the rear just a bit to take tension off and see if that works. |

I suspect your brake shoes are rattling in the caliper, and when you press the brakes, they stabilize under pressure. The rotors typically have sligjht surface irregularities such as when a vehicle sits for a while there's an outline of the pads that quickly wears off, etc. This is a constant process and can cause the pads to wobble/rattle.
I don't know how you'd do this but driving without the pads, or manually pushing them far off the rotors on a straightaway where you won't press them for long enough to establish if this is it might work. Best.

I had a similar experience in my right front. It was a loose pad in the caliper.
