LMAO Joe. Is that the Puzzle Manx?!?!?!?! WOW that has gone through a lot of changes since I saw it last! |
Yes, it has changed a lot since we rode together in '16.
In that first photo I originally posted above, it is sitting on it's third tube chassis and was fresh off of the NORRA 1000 race in '18.
I guess this is a better first photo of when I got it.
And this may be the last photo I have of it from August last year. It too will have big changes before hitting the road again.
Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve for yours. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Seriously Brent, you have done so much with your car already . . . I am curious to see what "big changes" you have planned . . . _________________ 1963 Manx copy

These pictures where taken at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) at an electric car exhibition back in the summer of 2002. This is back in the days when lead acid batteries in home conversions where pretty much the only EVs on the road. Behind my buggy in the first photo you can see the legendary White Zombie electric drag Datsun 1200. In the second photo you can see the neon lights are on.

I found my Buggy in a field in December of 2000.
Picked up License plates for it in September of 2004.
65,000 miles later......
Coming back from our second California trip.....

When we found the buggy or when it found us in 1995 it looked like this.....
After complete body off restoration (down to bare pan) in 2001 this was results, as it looks to day....
And then there is the pair, the blue car was a complete "parts" build from assembled parts gathered from friends and strangers and junkyards.... It was built to auto-cross, ran it about 6 years on auto-x circuit, it has now gone on to new owner who still runs it in auto-x and hill climbs....
